Brand-new cabinetry designed around the way you actually use your kitchen. From first sketch to final drawer pull, we handle everything.

A Kitchen Built Around You

Sometimes refacing isn't the right call. Maybe your cabinet boxes are falling apart. Maybe the layout never made sense to begin with. Maybe you've been working around a kitchen that was designed for someone else's life for too long.

Custom cabinets mean starting fresh. We tear out what's there and replace it with brand-new semi-custom or fully custom cabinetry that's designed specifically for your space, your storage needs, and how you actually cook and live. No compromises, no working around old problems.

As an authorized Waypoint Living Spaces dealer, we have access to one of the best semi-custom cabinet lines in the industry. And when a project calls for something Waypoint doesn't offer, we work with specialty manufacturers to build exactly what you need.

Who Custom Cabinets Are For

Custom cabinetry makes sense when your current kitchen needs more than a cosmetic update:

  • Your existing cabinet boxes are damaged, warped, or water-damaged beyond repair
  • The current layout wastes space or doesn't work for how you use your kitchen
  • You want to change the footprint -- add an island, reconfigure corners, move things around
  • You're doing a full kitchen renovation and want everything new from the ground up
  • Your cabinets are so outdated that refacing would be putting lipstick on a pig

If your cabinet boxes are solid and you're happy with your layout, cabinet refacing is usually the smarter and more affordable move. We'll tell you straight up during the consultation which route makes more sense for your situation.

Semi-Custom vs. Custom Cabinets

These terms get thrown around a lot, and most homeowners aren't sure what the actual difference is. Here's the straightforward version:

Semi-custom cabinets are factory-built using standard construction methods, but with a wide range of configuration options. You choose the door style, wood species, finish color, and interior accessories. Sizes come in 3-inch increments, so we can fit most kitchens without filler strips everywhere. Lead time is typically 4-6 weeks, and cost is significantly less than fully custom. This is what we install on most jobs, and it's what Waypoint Living Spaces specializes in. For 90% of kitchens, semi-custom gives you everything you need.

Fully custom cabinets are built to your exact specifications from scratch. Any size, any shape, any configuration. Need a cabinet that's 13-3/4 inches wide to fill an odd gap? Done. Want an angled corner unit that doesn't exist in any catalog? No problem. Lead time is longer -- usually 8-12 weeks -- and cost is higher. We recommend this route when the space demands it or when you want something truly one-of-a-kind.

During your design consultation, we'll walk you through both options with real pricing so you can make an informed decision. There's no pressure to go custom when semi-custom will do the job just as well.

How the Process Works

We don't wing it. Every custom cabinet project follows a structured process so there are no surprises:

  1. Design Consultation: We come to your home, measure everything, talk about what's working and what's not, and discuss your style preferences and budget. This takes about an hour. No charge, no obligation.
  2. 3D Rendering: Using ProKitchen software, we build a full 3D model of your new kitchen. You see exactly what it'll look like -- door styles, colors, layout, hardware -- before anything gets ordered. We revise until you love it.
  3. Material Selection: Once the design is locked, we finalize door styles, finishes, countertop material, hardware, and any accessories (pull-out trash, lazy susans, spice racks, etc.).
  4. Order & Lead Time: Cabinets go into production. Semi-custom typically takes 4-6 weeks. Full custom runs 8-12 weeks. We'll give you an exact timeline before you commit.
  5. Installation: Dave handles the installation personally. Depending on kitchen size, installation typically takes 3-7 days. We protect your floors, contain dust, and clean up every day.

What Does It Cost?

Custom cabinet projects typically range from $15,000 to $30,000+ depending on kitchen size, materials, and complexity. A small galley kitchen with semi-custom cabinets will land on the lower end. A large L-shaped kitchen with full custom cabinetry, specialty storage, and high-end finishes will be on the higher end or above.

We give you a detailed, line-item quote after the design consultation. No ballpark guesses, no hidden fees, no surprises at the end. The price we quote is the price you pay.
